There is a panel held on by two screws behind the trash pull out. The two slide out trays are removable, it is a long reach to the back wall.

I see the panel, but can't figure out how to remove the slide out tray so I can get back there. I'm sure it is something very logical. Urgh.

Regarding basement light....I'm not sure what that means regarding low voltage or how I'm supposed to rectify that.

The slide out trays have a lever on the sides of the tracks, on one side it goes up and on the other it goes down, pull tray at the same time. The outside light is probably a bad bulb or loose ground wire, I believe it has a switch on it, have you tried moving the switch

With regard to the "low-voltage" basement light, I believe Stuart is indicating it is a 12VDC light rather than a 120VAC; battery vs house power.

Stuart:

You're pretty good...and, quick...with that camera! The old Chinese proverb "A picture is worth a thousand words" is certainly true. Good work.

Well, that was fun. [emoji15] Since I don't really know what I'm doing, I just checked and made sure everything was plugged in well. Still get message on televator tv that says "No signal. Check the external input or select another input using the INPUT button." But the input button for the DVD works now. The antenna and satellite input have no signal.

Whoa, now the tv in the front is working. It wasn't working before. I'm feeling all kinds of accomplished at the moment. Almost all problems resolved.

Re: basement light...yes, I flipped switch...nada. So are we thinking it's the HDMI cable from the tv that goes up to the receptacle where the boxes are plugged in?

If you get anymore ideas, let me know. Thanks tons for your help!

Ok if the direct tv guy hooked it straight to the tv, you would need to plug the cable he unhooked back to the tv, then plug the direct tv in to the plate in the AV cabinet.. on the HDMI splitters under the sink the wires plugged in two the bottom go from there to the plate in the AV cabinet. The top plugs are what go out to the TVs. One splitter is for the blue ray and one is for satellite. It could also be where the cables plug in behind the back wall of the AV cabinet, you can feel around there by reaching up behind the cabinet.

Oh boy. I'm going to save that for tomorrow because I have to unscrew 4 little screws to remove the fireplace to get behind the cabinet. [emoji120] Will let you know how that goes. [emoji2]
