I did call Newmar and they got on the phone with me on Sunday. I am not really that disappointed as everything is working as expected, minus the awning. Obviously there is something wrong as there is no power to the box. It will get fixed when we get back. Not that big a deal. I should have caught it earlier but I just don’t use the awning much. I will look through my tools for a volt meter...and see if I can’t track it down. BTW, Fort Wilderness is empty!

Those pesky loose voltmeters! It's good thing we don't have loose volts !

Not sure where the fuse block for the awing will be found in the Bay Star, but in the larger coaches the "run bay" is on the driver side, under the driver's seat (ish). If you find the fuse block and have power on each side of the awning fuse the problem is between the fuse block and awning control box. If there's power to the control box, the failure is between the control box and the control switch you operate.

Good luck and let us know how this sorts out for you. Enjoy "the Wilderness"!

Have a friend here where we are staying, owns brane new to him 2019 Bay Star, dometic awining has quit working, no voltage to motor when trying to extend. Controller box has the power light flashing nothing else is on. When you hit retract with the switch over the door the motor moves the awinng, and moves the forward arm where the wind sensor is, but won't do anything else. Don't know if this is a wind sensor problem, or not. The Fob does nothing at all. Remote may need to be paired again to the controller.

While looking at the control box pictured, I see rusty screws that hold the right side of the box. Also see what looks like dried liquid marks as if something (water?) ran down the box face. Don't know what would cause this on a new rig.

My friend's control box has the same rusty screws. The wall it is mounted to is just under the tanks, on a back wall. The srews are long, go thru and are exposed to the air on the other side. We opened the box looking for possible moisture damage inside. There seems to be some old corrosion on some solder connections but no way to know it that was causing the issue.

Check all your GFCI outlets in the coach. It should be tied into one of them.

I had this problem and the GFCI in the half bath had tripped.

A short update. Service at the RV service center has confirmed the box was bad. Newmar has sent them a new box. Not sure when water or anything got on the controller box as the bay is dry inside now and does appear to be getting any water in it. I expect to get my RV back this or next week as they are also chasing a LP leak at the stove top. Once I know everything is working, I will report back on the findings.

And a final update. Service center at D&H RV Center fixed the awning. Newmar sent them a replacement Dometic control box, they swapped it over and all works. Now I can use the Awning. They also found a very minor LP leak at the stove top and fixed that as well. We also swapped out the crappy mattress and tomorrow I will upgrade the driving lights to LEDs. Its now washed and ready to go. Thanks all for your assistance.
