Power Control System 2017 Dutch Star

Hello Newmar Owners,

Over a week ago my new 2017 Dutch Star coach power quit working, the Magna Energy panel was blinking like a Christmas tree, the inverter light and charge light would blink back and forth, turning all the appliances on and off non stop, the generator wouldn't even communicate with the coach electric system. So i finally just turned the inverter on, unplugged from shore power and borrowed a battery charger from my neighbor..another Dutchstar...to keep the coach battery's charged till i could get a local service tech to look at it. The Newmar tech thought it might be a transfer switch, but the mobile tech found the problem to be a faulty "power control system", once the system was "un pluged" and we plugged back into 50 amp service, everything was working,,,it took 3.5 hours to trace this malfunction.

So, has anyone had a similar problem, just curious because the Engineer at "Precision Controls Inc" mentioned to me that probably wasn't the case, it was breakers in the main box that must have been turned off causing the system to shed power to run at a lower amp......sure.....NOTHING was working...and all the breakers were on.

Comments welcome.

Thanks!!! Dave

Glad to see no one responded, Newmar had told me during this event, that since 2010 they have had only 5-6 failures. that they know of. They took very good care of us, getting this handled. We are happy to be part of the Newmar owner experience.

Soon off to Calgary and the Canadian Rockies to try to break her in!!
