Pricing insanity

I'm still on an email alert for Newmar Ventana's. We ordered and purchased a new one so I just delete them. Got one today from Pine Acres RV in NB.

2015 4369 35K miles. $ 289.900

2020 4369 used 5K miles $ 449.900

And, get this one... New 21. 4369. $ 650.999
They don't list the build sheet, but this coach would max out at 425 list price.
Sounds like a good place to stay away from.

Assuming New Brunswick so they would be quoting Canadian $. Even with a 30% conversion this is sky high

I have a friend in Oregon that bought a new 2019 Allegro Bus, for $300K. He showed me an add where someone had the same coach for sale for $350K.

CDN prices are typically 35-40% higher. Itís not just the exchange rate, its the smaller number of prospective buyers...and then there are much higher taxes as well. It all adds up to much more expensive.

$650,000 Canadian comes out to about $502,000 US.

I could understand that sediment if I owned. I think it just owners and dealers trying to cash in, good for them if people are dumb enough to buy it. If itís true that you can get a discount around 28 to 30% off MSRP for a new MH. Why would anyone pay close to that for a 3-4 year old coach off warranty? Iíll wait for the explanation.

Well, not making excuses for anybody but it is a fact at our age, you canít buy more time at any price and new ones that get close to what you want are in very short supply and high demand. If you have to order to get close it will take a long time. So, if you find a good used one that is what you want, many will overpay to have it now.

So is any dealer giving 28-30% discount on any Newmar, especially those in stock? We tried “small” with a LTV Serenity and as much as we loved it we just flat ran out of space for what we need including taking both grandkids. After a good experience with an Entegra Aspire we’re now searching a Newmar Class A and reluctant to jump into a hot seller’s market.

I entertained moving from a fifth wheel to a Newmar Bay Star. Got prices for my trade at wholesale trade and asked for MSRP Discount price in case I sell my trailer privately. I got a poor trade price and the best discount was 5%. Definitely a sellers market now.

That seems to be the mind-set nowadays it's like, "I want it no matter the cost". I retired from a Credit Union that the members earlier demanded checking accounts. They were told this would cost, which would lower interest rates on saving and/or increase interest rates on loans.

The main response was: I don't care what it costs, I want it.
