Problem with Canyon Star bedroom slideout

2016 Canyon Star 3710. The bedroom slideout extends 10 inches then stops. Banging noise coming from the motor/cog area beneath the bed. I removed the false bottom panels in the under bed storage area. I thought the mechanism was jumping teeth on the cog. Visual inspection showed that it is not jumping the cog. The shaft on both sides of the motor/gearbox is rotating back and forth rapidly, just enough to push the cog against the frame and then it rolls back then pushes into it again. It's as if the motor is turning on and off. I switched power and control wiring between the two slide controllers to see if it was a control board problem. I operated it again, using the known good control board from the living room slide. Same problem. I can retract the slide, but when extending it stops at the same place and starts banging again. I'm looking for ideas and suggestions from anyone that may have experienced this or anything similar. Hopefully it's not the motor/gearbox. The motor mount bolts appear to be tight.

Weird...just had a slide that wouldn't go in today!

All of our controllers were replaced (warranty) earlier along with the motors. So, that shouldn't have been the problem.

Since I was at home and testing before our trip I was alone. Crud!

The full wall slide along the driver side wouldn't come in at all. It made a weeping sound, like between a baby meow and a meep and stopped.

I called Bruce at Newmar who immediately answered the phone. First, he had me cut the Battery Connect and see if that worked. No, the slide was dead.

Then he had me go to the controller in the basement and pull the little, tiny, rectangular shaped computer chip below the five-pronged input thing and immediately put it back in.

I was trying to get the controller into mode "L1" from "00". This puts the slide in Learning Mode. Worked another time. I forgot...needed a refresher course.

It took a few minutes for it to kick in but it worked!!! The slide started like a champ. Now, I just hope it works at the campground we are on our way to...

You might want to call Bruce and/or Newmar for advice. Also, try to pull the little tiny controller. Immediately put it back in.

Good luck!! I hope you don't have to manually get the slide in...that sucks.
