Problem with Essex slide out

I am having trouble with my kitchen slide 06 Essex. The slide has opened up while I was driving, the locking arms do not work and Newmar told me the slide will not open because the motor will prevent the slide from opening. Well it doesn't. The slide motor sounds like the gears are stripped in the housing. I would like to know where I can buy the gears. Thank you in advance

We owned a 04 Essex for 14 years with 145K miles before we purchased our 18 LA. The automatic locking arms, slide out control boxes, rollers, trans torque bushing along with motor were a on going issue that required a box of extra items to keep us rolling down the road. Most items are only available from Newmar. There are a number of information sheets that can assist as you learn more about your slide outs. Even with these slide out problems we had our Essex was a out standing traveling machine.
