Progressive dynamics Transfer Switch hum

We have noticed a hum in our rear bedroom. Checking it out, it comes from the Progressive Dynamics Automatic transfer switch. This unit transfers between generator and land connection. I contacted the manufacturer and there is a normal hum, but if it's getting louder it could be the switch getting dirty. Blowing it out with canned air is one step. Interestingly the manual, which I downloaded, has a significant warning on proper mounting orientation. This is relative to horizontal or vertical orientation of the switch. The warning in their manual states wrong orientation will limit service life. The direction of mount in my 2015 Newmar is the wrong orientation. There is no way for me to change that given the wire harnesses and mounting space. Newmar needs to correct this design flaw. BTW I concluded the hum is reasonable at the unit (low) - it must just be resonating with the wall structure up to the bedroom.

My transfer switch is in the basement so I don't notice the hum. There are several things that Newmar installed contrary to the manufacturer's specs. including temperature sensors mounted on outside walls.

See if you can find a transfer switch with DC relays (like this one).

DC relays reduce hum.

The Progressive Dynamics Transfer Switch is "Generator Dominant" which means that the contactors are operated only when shore power is being fed to the RV Breaker Panel. This is why you get "hum" when plugged into Shore Power.

This Transfer Switch is compatible with Generator Auto Start. If your RV does not have Generator Auto-Start then one possible solution would be to change out the Transfer Switch with a different brand that is "Shore Power Dominant". One example would be the WFCO T-57 , (if your RV is 50 Amp Service). Another advantage of this one is that WFCO manual says it can be mounted in any orientation. You might still hear hum when the Transfer Switch Contactors are operating, but it will only be with the generator running. If you can hear it over the generator running noise, I would be surprised.

Thank you, I don't have auto start, so this could be a good fix.
