Propane Freezer Sizes

We are in the process of ordering a Ventana 3412. We want the propane refrigerator that has the most freezer space. From the specs, you would assume that to be the 4-door model, but the left side freezer is almost entirely consumed by the automatic ice maker (which we don't want, but removal is not an option). The 2-door model actually looks to have more freezer space because it does not come with an ice maker. Which do you think has more usable space?

Also, we had a Dometic propane fridge in the last coach, and just loved it - does anyone have an opinion about the differences between Dometic and Norcold?

I figured I'd post this and get some opinions from the group...

Thanks in advance!

Have you considered a basement freezer? Ours is a Whynter. It comes in 3 sizes. I got it online and it shipped from Home Depot. Operates on AC and DC. I have the FM-65G and am very pleased with it.

As for Dometic Norcold I too have a Dometic and am very pleased with it. I did have an Amish Cooling unit install in Shipshewana IN (near the Newmar Plant) and I like it. I had had no problem, I just wanted the upgrade.

We have had 0 issues in 5 years with the edge star basement frig/freez. Same one mentioned in the #2 post with diff name. We find it helpful when defrosting our dometic absorption. Otherwise it is set to 27 degrees for keeping the beer cold and that extra gallon of milk. Can't answer your question but our 1999 dometic cooling unit went till last year then died due to leak. Replaced the cooling unit inside the coach and feel confident we will be in fine shape. They don't call them "no-cold's " for nothing.
