Propane Water Switch and Reset??

Being I am somewhere where the temperature is in the mid 30's (which I should not be) I have turned on the propane for the water heater along with the electric to supplement the heating of the water while we are taking showers. The reset light comes on for a few seconds when I turn it on and then it goes off.

Is this normal? I read in the manuals that the reset will come on when the water temperature is to hot and to manually reset it at the water heater itself. But if the light goes right back off will I have to do this?

Normal - yes
Light off - no reset required

Hi reubenray,
This gets a little complicated. When you first turn on the propane to the water heater two things will happen.
1. The water temperature is low enough to call for the burner to ignite immediately. The light will come on until this is accomplished. Then it will go off and stay off.
2. The water temperature is not low enough to turn on the burner. Nothing will happen.
2a. The first time the burner ignites the light will come on until this is accomplished and then go off and stay off.
3. If after the first burner lighting the light comes on, that indicates the burner tried to light 3 times and failed. One will need to turn off the gas button. Then turn it back on again.

Normal. The light does not indicate “On”. The light indicates that the ignition sequence is in progress.

That's how it works Ray.

In our last coach we were in a wind storm, the burner kept getting blown out.
Did not have electric burner.

So i went online and found a wind deflector that clipped on to the grate.

However would have took too long to get it to me, in Del.

So i'm having a smoke outside the Class C and a piece of flashing for a roof goes flying by lands in the grass right next to me, and i made one using the pics as a guide.

High winds your burner can get blown out over and over again.

Questions

Which way is "on" at the electric toggle switch?

What does the reset button feel like? It is hard and I cannot tell if I am pushing anything. Will something pop out when it needs to be reset?

There are two switches for the hot water on our ‘15 Ventana. One controls the electric heating element. The “on” position is when you depress the upper half of the rocker. The second switch controls the propane ignitor. The “on” position for this is when you depress the bottom half of the rocker.

If you are not getting hot water from the electric heating element, have you checked the circuit breaker to see that it is turned on. Our 110v circuit panel is located in the half bath. The breaker is labeled something like “water heater”. You may wa t to “reset” this breaker if you haven’t already.

Our gas toggle switch goes “down” for on. Not intuitive. The reset is not a button but rather a light. As stated earlier to reset you have to cycle the gas power switch off then back on.
