Protecting Mirrors from Love Bugs?

I am getting ready to wash and put Rejex on my front end and windshield for a trip in a week. What about the color coded mirrors?

Put Rejex on them. Put Rejex on anything that faces forward and can get bugs. Mirrors, mirror arms, mounts, back of the side cameras, curved over the cab portion above the windshield.

You can put Rejex on anything that is a smooth shiny finish. Don't apply it to a rough matte finish. It's too hard to remove. It won't buff off easily.

How often do you need to apply the Rejex? Does the sun bake it off?

Kind of like a good wax. 3-6 months but if stuff starts sticking time to do a goo cleaning. Works well on the windshield, like Rain-X. I do that about once a month.

Streaks on Windshield??

While waxing the windshield I found 5 areas that are about 5+" wide and about 2' long directly below each of the 5 lights. I am assuming something run off of the lights which may have been silicone. I tried 0000 steel wool and it did nothing to them.

Any ideas?

For rough areas on paint I've had great success with a clay bar. Haven't tried it on glass yet but there is an area under one of the gutters I need to try it on.

Post treatment

Don't have contribution for pretreat but a couple of days ago I used a 98 cent box of baking soda to make a paste (2013 post on love bugs), covered the front of the coach from windshield down and left it on for about 15 min. Went back out and with very little effort wiped those little critters off. I was surprised it worked so well. My last wax was about 6 months old. The front was covered. When it stops raining 10 days from now I'll get the windshield. I've never seen the love bugs as bad as this year. At least they don't bite or sting

I use Road Wrap. It is a clear plastic wrap that is used only when traveling. I have been using it in the front of my toad for 3 years with no issues. Also use Rejex.

After work yesterday did Rejex from windshield down. This afternoon I will do windshield up. We are headed to Florida for Labor Day and as of now, with all the rain in Louisiana it is keeping the Love Bugs at bay. But will be prepared. To those that have the hot water spigot by genset, have you ever thought of adding a y-valve to tie in to from water inlet so in cold weather we can have warm water. Worried about cracking windshield with only hot water. Actually with being from down south have never used this spigot due to this fear!

Rejex on clear film coating

Can you use Rejex if you have a clear film "bra"?
