Putting together 2020 Dutch Star Order

Hi!

Still getting our order of 2020 Dutch Star 4326 put together. Appreciate the good feedback and responses on my other thread.

I'm hearing from the dealer that Newmar has very few 2020 chassis left and to get our floor plan ( the 4326 with bunks ) they will borrow from another dealer.

• Is this typical?
  
• Or is this dealer creating a sense of short supply in order to demand premium?
  
• Others who have seen this situation, any negotiating tips?

my opinion is that the dealer is FOS....

I think a more complete answer is probably that Newmar dealers made commitments for the full factory production; each dealer ordered a number they felt they could sell; and your dealer already sold their allotted 43’ chassis to other customers; and to get your business they are looking to buy from another dealer (probably trading for something else).

My dealer did exactly that last year.

That’s exactly how my 2019 order fell apart. Placed an order. Put a down payment down. Dealer was FOS on having a chassis. Tried to borrow steal (their words not mine) a chassis from another dealer. Couldnt. No order. Wasted my time. Had to wait for 2020.

Does it happen? Sure, but I’d just as soon go to another dealer that did have a chassis and ask them to match the price.
