We're currently planning on being at the "Q" for 2021. Although that will be re-evaluated after Christmas.......... If we make it, we plan to boondock on BLM land...

We are also planning to be at "The Gathering in the Desert" this year unless it is cancelled due to COVID problems.

Few questions for a 1st timer at Q.
If we plan to stay for most of Jan-Feb, where can mail be forwarded to if we are in the BLM area?
What would the weather be like so we can bring correct gear.
Is it easy to get tanks and water taken care of?
Thanks!

Quartzsite for mail is a madhouse & they're not the friendliest post office. I'd recommend going to Blythe, CA. It's not far and you can grocery shop there, also.
Jan/Feb will typically have nice warm days 60's/70's but nights can get cool. It's the desert.
If you're stay in the long-term areas there will be dumping facilities right there. Otherwise, right in town is a place.

I have stayed at Rice Ranch 4 times, never made reservations. They have dry camping , use to be $7. Always saw some full service spots open. You don't have to fight traffic the tent is right across the street.

I stopped by Rice Ranch a couple weeks ago and made reservations. This will be my first time there.

Wife actually gave the "green light" to coming. Heading that way on 12/30. Never been there before so trying to quickly plan where to stay and work around shows. My wonder is how many people will actually show with all that's going on. Might be a good time to go to avoid normally BIG crowds.
Plan on being at NKK also....and hopefully doing a lot of Jeeping. Anybody up for hitting the trails together let me know.

Just a note...... we often bring cash to pay for most things at the show. Last year we allowed one of the booths to use one of those wireless credit card machines and was immediately hacked.

Bummer! I never carry cash. Sounds like I might have to reconsider, or just be a window shopper.
Are there any Wells Fargo banks in town?

Randy.....The City charges a 10% sales tax during the winter when all the snow birds are there. Buying a large ticket item, like a satellite or solar, can get pricey with a 10% sales tax. Consequently, we do buy too many big ticket items there, so having cash for small gadgets and the flea markets comes in handy.
There are not too many quality places to eat at Quartzsite. There are a few fast food places. So.......bring food with you.

Subway, Hardee’s, Burger King, McDonald’s, Dairy Queen there’s two truck stops. There are a few dine in restaurants the yacht club and silly owls couple more around town. Last year had record numbers visitors to Quartzsite. I prefer the Burger King over all the fast food in Quartzsite. And silly Al’s pizza because of the pool tables in the back. We had plans for Quartzsite this year and changed her travel for Florida.

I love it. The Burger king is the best place in town. But is there a supermarket where I can get ingredients for a home cooked meal?
