Quartzsite 2021

Is anybody planning this soon to go to Q? Thinking of signing up for the NKK rally, but would also like to hit Big Bend and Moab before and after Q. Any suggestions for staying within a days drive of NKK rally b4 and after, with full hook ups?

We book our spot before we leave each year, for the following year. We stay in town, across from the tent. So were booked and ready to go.

Here's something I don't get....the big tent opens on Friday and runs for ten days. We always arrive Monday after it opens and stay until Thursday. For some reason, they have the Newmar rally before Monday and everybody leaves. That means people are only there one or two days that the tent is open. We take several days, doing a little bit of the entire Quartzsite area, a day at a time.

So if they do the Newmar rally so early again....I guess I'll wave as you pass by on the freeway.

I wonder if the big tent will be cancelled for 2021. I hope not.

I would think that there will be changes this year. I don't see any improvement in the spread of the virus for quite a while. Not until a vaccine or herd immunity takes hold. Especially for us in our 70's.

We will not put ourselves in harms way by being in large crowds until then.

Just my opinion. I am not a doctor.

I saw an article last week that said the Quartzite RV and Vacation show is currently a go, AZ has approved the COVID related stuff that the Show Promotor has submitted. But as we are experiencing things could change by Jan 2021 for the better or worst, your guess is as good as mine!

I have never been to QS. Any suggestions on where to stay within walking distance of the action?

As of the latest information, the tent will be open but aisles will be one-way, masks are required, and vendors have extra precaution.

We've been to Q often but I certainly wouldn't go if the virus or flu are rampant.... especially to be in the tent even if it's one-way aisles. That place is normally packed unless many decide not to go this year.

It's always packed the first weekend, but slows way down as the week goes on.

Looked via google and spotted a place called Rice Ranch across road and BLM land just south across the property from the tent area, if google is right.....

from experienced folks here, how crowded will these places to camp be?

Thanks!

Shockingly, I see absolutely no mention of Covid protocols anywhere on the website. If they truly want to attract large numbers, it seems to me that they would want to feature these precautions prominently. Attendees skew to the older/retired crowd, who are MUCH more susceptible to the disease.

Without clear advanced notice of the protocols (starting with mandatory masks), we certainly won't be going.

Crowded in last 3 weeks of January, especially. Although there's always room on the BLM land.

The show responded to my inquiry and said they will be adding Covid updates soon, and will require everyone to have facial coverings. That's good to hear.
