Question: Newmar-Entegra
I saw this post on the Entegra site, obviously slanted bias views.
I guess I'm the odd duck, I have a 2014 Anthem I am trying to unload and get into the Newmar family. Reasons: Comfort drive, steerable tag axle, a 40' model with a steerable tag offering, an insulated sub-basement floor, plus using a better hydronic heating system, and the option of choosing the options my DW and I agree on.
I love the cathedral ceiling in the rear bath of the 4369 as well as an escape door and the additional 6 inches of height. I can order my new Dutch Star on the Freightliner chassis or the inferior Spartan, both at the same price. What am I missing? Why would someone opt for the a substandard Entegra when the Dutch Star offers more for less $$. What am I missing????

I'm on the fence between the two,and i always was a Newmar kinda guy....but the Entegra's do have the steerable tag....not sure the Oasis is better than the A-hot...do like the escape door....But...
the fact that the Dutch Stars are running around with a over loaded front axle is not a comfortable thought
many pros and cons.....

We've had two Newmars so am biased toward them. But Entegra has good stuff too. I don't think you can go too wrong with either of them.

Having had Dutch Stars on both the Fl and Spartan chassis I can say I'd rather have the Spartan, and I used to work for FL in their Portland HQ.

Steerable tag vs lifting makes no difference in the vehicle handling. I contacted FL and was told their comparison was done against a non lifting tag so they aren't even comparing apples to apples.
Our '02 DSDP was overweight on the front axle and Newmar did just like they are doing with the new ones, replacing the whole front axle assembly.
They had Spartan replace our 12,000# front axle with a 14,600# unit to correct the problem. I'd say they went above and beyond requirements.
Someplace out there is an '02 DSDP 4090 with a front axle that's way over what's needed and it's in great shape too.

Chuck, time to get a glimpse of the 2017's, Newmar is the ONLY Mfg. usinginf a 19K lb. front axle for 2017. Beats the heck out of all others for CC. The only Entegra with a steerable tag is the Cornerstone. Shoot, Newmar puts it on there Ventana tag. Shame on Entegra. Have you taken a close real look at Anthem weights on their front axle? I have seen many over weight.
Oasis is in high end yachts, the military, and million plus dollar Newells. Low pressure burner, less maintenance and quieter with 2 110 electric heat elements compared to one for Aqua. Why do you think Newmar is paying more or Oasis vs. Aqua??

[MOD EDIT]
Spartan was a better chassis from 1995 thru 2004, stay on top or watch the competition blow on by. IT HAPPENED!

Entegra has a bumper to bumper twobyear warranty as well as a history of going beyond that time limit. We are on number two and even though we think Newmar is a good coach the customer service and company attitude toward owners will keep us loyal owners. Just my honest opinion.

I have an Entegra, 2 years is not enough! There engineering has a lot to learn.
Not sure a 3 year warranty would suffice!

The AquaHots are fine, but Entegra chooses to use the 400-450 models which use to be called HydroHot across their model line up. The 600-650 AquaHot models are higher functioning with 16 gal tanks, twin electric elements and low pressure. Entegra chooses the cheaper units.

If you want a 40' TAG, Newmar is your only choice. We looked at the Entegra. They were nice but we didn't want a 45' coach but did want a TAG. Newmar - BOOM!
We have been very happy with our 2015 Ventana 4037. Our Dream coach is a DS 4018 but it's "just" out of reach at this time in our lives.

I have read tons of Aqua hot problems on the Entegra site. Nothing on Oasis issues.
Who in TODAY'S coach building environment uses the Aqua 650?

American uses it in some and the 600 is optional in the Monaco Dynasty. The REV Group coaches use lots of AH 400 series and no mention of problems on those forums. Entegra reports the AH issues; radiator problems; interior power shade problems. Other builders use these same components but no one else is reporting these problems. I don't understand it.

If you are on the fence, just remember that an Entegra is still a Jayco no matter how hard they try to distance themselves.
