Questions with Whirlpool Convection Oven
Have a Whirlpool convection oven model WMWH76719 in our 2016 VT.
The manual says the convection can go to 450 degrees but the unit only goes to 425. If you enter 450 it just drops down to 425. Tried a factory reset. No luck.
Also the manual states their may be an optional charcoal filter. How can I tell if I have this?

I agree that the oven does not go above 425. Maybe a European spec. oven could get higher with 240v instead of 120v as we have.
The carbon filter was news to me so I looked and found it (or rather 2). You undo 2 Philips head screws holding the plastic piece along the top of the oven. Pull that off and the filters are behind that.

Also, I suggest you check the actual temps with a thermometer. Our's typically ran 25-50 degrees below the stated temp. After we had 3 of them fail completely while still under warranty, Newmar replaced it with a GE.

You're right. Our Whirlpool doesn't get close to 425 regardless of how long I preheat. Does the GE get to 425? Do you have the model #?

Remember that "convection" ovens don't necessarily provide higher temps, but instead allow one to cook quicker and sometimes with less temp needed.

The GE works fine and has accurate temps. I don't have the model # here- when I go over to the storage lot later, I'll get it for you

Newmar installed a GE pvm91798f1ss to replace the 3 Whirlpool units that failed while within the warranty period. 3 Years later, still working OK

Our 2017 VT came with a Whirlpool Microwave/Convection. The instructions are pretty much non-existent. Can you use metal pans when using only convection (I can’t see why not)? Is there any way of showing the current temperature of the oven (not the set temperature)?

Yes, you can use metal plans when using convection. If there's a way to show current temperature, I don't know it.

There are always those oven thermometer things if you wish to check the approximate (not sure of their accuracy) temp. It must be close however because known baked items seem to get to the desired "doneness" at the anticipated elapsed time.

Our GE convection oven at home does the exact same thing. The reason it does that is convection cooks faster than bake does. Auto switching down 25 degree gets you close to the same cooking time as if it was on bake.
