How about posting your tips and easy modifications that make life easier?

Other NEWMAR QT's

I have 2 to start.

1. If you have side hinged baggage doors, in the water bay, add or move the shower holder to the door to permit hands free use. Careful, or you may inadvertently wash your feet.

2. If you have a power awning, to help keep it cleaner, don't extend it quite all the way to eliminate the valley that is created at full extension where the fabric is attached to the roller.

Great ideas, especially the outdoor shower one.
I actually would consider putting it there permanently to keep it clear when I'm working in the wet bay.

Where did you find the shower holder? I noticed you still have the original holder in the factory location.

What kind of screws did you use to mount it?

I bought the holder at the factory, and used 3/4" stainless steel screws. I like to use stainless on the exterior wherever possible.

You can buy just about anything in person. Jeannie is the gal that runs the parts counter, and she's great.

The hard part is knowing what's available and what's possible to use. Start your list now.

Our mirriored vanity doors were held closed by locks that one needed to pull on the latch to open the door. This was hard on the wife's fingernails. At Lowes I purchased latches that hold the door closed via magnets. Now to open the door one pushes in on the chrome plate, release the door and it opens. The same process closes the door.

There are single and double magnet latches. Buy the double magnet latches.

Go here to see a picture of the Magnetic Latches.

Feed Up With Replacing A Burned Out Bulb Over The Door?

Want A Better Light Over The Door?

Well I for one replaced the bulb over the door three times. Each time getting not much more than 20 or 30 hours out of them. This was with the factory spec'ed 1076 bulb.

I replaced it finally with a 1176A and it has been working for over a month with no issue.

The "A" stands for amber which provides a much better light glow in my opinion. The 1176 is a slightly larger size bulb, but seems to deliver more light and does not burn out.

Some of our rigs are so well sound insulated and I am sufficiently hearing impaired that I did not always hear anyone knock at the door. I added a wireless doorbell next to the front door handle and put it on the coach with double sided velcro. Found several types at Lowes for less than $30.

I put the chime portion of the door bell mid coach out of sight and now the arrival of guests is announced.

I used a small piece of Velcro. To hold my Awning rod right next to the door (inside) so it's always in the same spot... Wrap 1 half around the rod and then stick the other part to the wall...

Getting the pins out of the towbar/baseplate can be impossible if there is any stress on the connection.

I found some double sided Velcro about 1" x 12" long which I wrap around the locking levers on the towbar to hold them down. I then drive the toad forward just an inch or two, the stress is relieved, and the pins easily come out.

Good one, Dirk. I usually try reaching it with my foot while trying to pull the pin. Your idea seems far better.

I added locking fuel caps. First I tested the existing and found them to be non-vented type. Took one to a local automotive store and matched it up with two locking ones. That was 6,000 miles ago, so I guess I got the right ones.

When my entry light died I cut the caulk on three sides also and flipped it up. By the way my light was a 1003. I'll try the 1176 next as the 1003 didn't last long.

I got tired of digging my compact folding ladder out from under the pile whenever I needed it. So, I measured the length of the ladder (it folds to 3 1/2 inches square) and went to Lowes and bought a length of PVC pipe 4" in diameter and an end cap. Then I mounted the pipe in the storage bay via bungee cords so that it won't roll around. The ladder stores in the pipe and it is accessible whenever I need it.

You can use plastic fence post. They are 4in. square and the folding lader works great. I have three of the square post stacked on top of each other. I roll up my sun screens and put in one and the other I put my broom and items that have long handles (brush for washing motor home, squeegee etc.) works out great.
