I had mine done 2 years ago. All of the other coolers had to be removed (Freightliner chassis). Total labor hours were 14. Cost of a new radiator $1800. Old one couldn't be re-cored because of the plastic sides. Radiator replacement is used in Volvo trucks and has 4 cores VS the old one with 3 cores. Work was done at a specialty rad shop recommended by a Freightliner garage because the labor charges and replacement parts would be cheaper.

EDIT: There may be differences is the way the rad is installed in an Freightliner and Spartan chassis coach. For more info please add your chassis manufacturer to your post.

I had the same issue a few years ago. I chose to do the repair myself. Labor hours of 14 hrs is about right. Being a contortionist is almost a requirement. The side radiator is a Volvo equal and now it's all copper & brass so that a recore or repair is possible. Our main problem was the protective shields underside had been bumped and became dirt scoops from the rear tires. The protective shields are now fixed and the annual backside wash show only a couple of leaves and debris being washed away. The collection of debris in the lower corners accelerated the radiator corrosion and failure. Filling it with the 12 gal of antifreeze and DCA mix was fun too.
