Rear LED TV

I installed a 32' Vizio LED tv in the bedroom of our 4304 DSDP. Thank you to all the contributors to the forum, I have gained the confidence to do several repairs, adjustments and modifications.

I did kinda the same thing in my 4304, except I raised my TV, mounted it to plywood, then mounted the whole thing to a piano hinge. This allowed me to flip up the TV to access the cabinet behind it. Also by raising the TV up it creates a space below it, so I enclosed that area, trimed it out and made a shelf for the alarm clock, change...etc. All in all much better than the old tube TV.

You did a good job, looks nice.

My main TV up front is a 32" LED that I put in this winter. Looks like you did a great job installing it.

The bracket that I bought was oversized for the tv and the space, so I cut it down so it just fit the width of the cabinet.

Sorry this is "continued" from last post. I removed the wood extension and trim that framed the old CRT tv. I then cut down the width of the metal bracket so it would just fit inside the cabinet and the height so that it would fit the tv. I screw it to the bracing that holds the front of the cabinet in and set the height of the tv so that some of its weight would be resting on the bottom of the wood frame, also the sides of the tv were just wide enough to fit pretty snugly as well. In the morning I will go out and get the make and model of the bracket and post it on this thread. I have not road tested the install as of yet but it looks to be a pretty good fit. One good thing about the new LED tv's is that they are very light. The one I bought says 27lbs shipping weight

Sorry I keep ending my post prematurely! To complete my thought I'm guessing out of the box with no stand probably 20 lbs or less. I don't know what the old one weighed in at, but I'm guessing north of 60. For my next project I would like to install a outdoor entertainment center. I will try to take some more photos and make some notes as I do that.

We used a 26" Samsung to replace the old CRT. Made for some valuable storage space and spot for the Sat. Receiver.

This is the bracket that I used. It was probably heavier than needed. If you are any good at fabricating you might come up with something better. Possibly wood? I'm a bit of a "wood butcher" rather than a carpenter so I chose metal.
