Reelcraft h2o reel

I think the water hose reel on my 08 MADP has the original water hose, so I want to change it out before it ruptures. Has anyone replaced theirs? If so how? and what parts are needed to make it so a regular hose will screw in?

We replaced ours last winter in Tx while in a park. Easy to do. Got the parts from Fastenal (Reelcraft supply rep.) No more small puddles of water in the wet bay from the original 1999 parts where the swivel had a small leak. Replaced hose and swivel without removing the reel from the coach.

Unfortunately a std. hose will not hook to the reels swivel as you may know. In fact on ours the loose end of the (old or new) hose will not even pass thru the rollers on the exit side of the hose reel. To replace is done by feeding the coach end of the new hose thru the exit rollers and on to the new swivel, then wind up on the preloaded reel.

Now for the good part, the great quality 35' hose, a retrofit better swivel is available from Reelcraft which is very high quality (for consumption) parts. $197.00 for the parts below including a new rubber bumper set. Give Reelcraft a call, Newmar will charge much more for the parts.

1999 Newmar Mountain Aire MADP 4080, Cummins ISC 8.3L, Allison, Spartan MM IFS, Howard Power Center, Chev Trailblazer LTZ Towed w/ BlueOx rigging, Segway X2.
