Remove the Sign

What is involved to remove the sign under the rear of the coach....It's time for it to find a new home...meaning the sign, not the coach.

If you are talking about the “ad flap”, it looks to me like you unscrew a chain link on both sides and it drops down.

That's all there is to it...two bolts with nuts.

Here is what the mount looks like, minus the flat piece of metal with the hole in it, something I added to adjust my flap. On yours, they slide the stud in the photo, through the opening of a chain link, on your flap. It takes a 3/4" socket or open end wrench to remove the nut and remove the flap.

On our Alaska trip we saw folks removing the flap because it was throwing large rocks at the toad's windshield. We had just traveled the same section of construction and we had no rocks. We just had the stiff flaps behind the wheels.

Even on the highways the mud flap should be at least 4" above the ground. This helps keep it from hitting the ground on uneven surfaces, and keeps it from creating a wind tunnel effect and throwing those rocks.
That mud flap can be an asset when used correctly. It can also say something fun or personal in stead of advertising the coach manufacturer.
Call DuraFlap if you want a replacement face plate. They did me a great job

That’s my flap on the Camelot. I plan to try and modify it to the Mountain Aire

I like Dura Flaps products. They weld the studs onto the back of the stainless steel, so you don't see screw heads like you do on the Newmar flap. They also use rubber versus plastic.
