Removing battery slide out tray
I have a 2014 Newmar Ventana 3436 and we are going to install 6 lithium batteries to replace the four batteries now in the bay. In order to get them to fit I will need to remove the battery slide out tray. Has anybody done this? Is the slide out tray welded on? Am I asking for more trouble than it is worth.

I have a different model Newmar but my battery slide out tray was really corroded from the battery off gassing. I removed the tray to repaint it. Pretty easy. Just four bolts.

Thanks
I'm getting ready to remove mine, repaint with Por15, replace and install 8 GC2 AGMs. Haven't investigated how EZ / difficult but appreciate the info.
Mine is a 2013 VTDP 3433.

KenQ.... the tray comes off the slide assy after removing the eight rollers. The slide mount assy removes from the battery bay floor by removing four bolts.
The process is shown in a couple of older project posts found in Quick Tips and Mods #3 at the top of this page, under the name Bug Dog, and others, incl me.

Ken
I worked on my 2013 VTDP 3433 batty compartment & tray today. Mine has 8 - 6V FLA GCs and I'm planning on replacing w AGMs. As noted in other posts the slide tray comes out fairly easy 2 or 4 bolts (mine only had 2 at rear)
You will likely need to modify the compartment floor if you are installing battys directly on it. My floor was fairly light gauge sheet vs the slide tray. The wt of the tray & battys is carried by structural stiffeners that the tray bolts to.
Worth looking into and developing a plan/ design. I'm sure it can be done and additional stiffeners can probably be installed below the floor.
