Removing rear bumper

I have a 2003 Dutch Star. I made the mistake of trying to back up with a car trailer on the back. The result was one broken ladder and a big crack in the rear bumper. I think I have a replacement ladder lined up from camping world, but need to remove the rear bumper to repair it and get it repainted. My main question is any advice on removing the bumper. I think I can repair it and a friend with a body shop will paint it. So any help on where, and how it fastens would be appreciated. Also any tips on repairing fiberglass that thick would also be appreciated. Also how heavy is it and can one man handle it or is a two person job up and down? Thanks in advance. Bill

Not part of cap

That was the first thing I checked. It is not part of the rear cap.

If its not part of rear cap than look for attachments to the rear chassis frame cross members.
Plus the outside edges of bumper must be attached to the same finish rib coming down the sidewall for cap and bumper.
I would have a body shop that works on fiber glass take a look and see if they can finish crack without removing the bumper.

Any Fiberglas repair shop can fix that in place without much trouble.
The previous owner of Our Rig had hung a full width mud flap directly off the Bumper on Our 98 DSDP. Naturally it Tore Off ,taking a large piece of Fiberglas with it.The Repair Guy drilled several holes and stitch-wired the pieces in place .After the Resin Dried he removed the wire ,filled the Holes and painted it the proper color.
