Removing water compartment water filter before winterizing

Reading instructions in utility compartment to remove water filter before comincing pumping in antifreeze, will that housing fill back up with antifreeze when winterization begins? Seems that would waste a lot of the pink stuff before even starting. Have never removed that housing later to see if it was full of pink stuff or just empty.

Anyone look at this?

Yes mine fills with RV A/F after I remove the filter.

When I de-winterize , I remove the housing and save that A/F for next season, install the empty housing, flush the system then remove and sanitize the housing again before installing a new filter.

I remove the house filter and the frig filter out before winterizing. I also sanitize the whole house water system when I dewinterize then put new filters in the house and refrigerator once that is over.

See post #12 in this linked thread on how I eliminate the filter housing from the Winterizing process.

How is your filter housing connected? Not the same brand but my coach came with connectors that can be disconnected and a short piece of flexible hose that can be put in it's place.

After removing the filter, there is a disc and gasket that can be put on top of the canister that prevents the canister from filling with antifreeze. I made mine but I've seen them online.

I just turn one line off and the other one on per printed instructions on inside panel, insert plastic line into gal jug of AF and start the pump. Turn on inside faucets, etc.
No idea where it comes thru all the lines.
