LED's are almost all the trucks use these days. So much less power needed and wire connections are not as critical, due to the lower amperage load.
Corrosion is still a problem, so a dab of grease on all connections will save you from a lot of headaches. As a matter of fact, most quality lights will come with a bit of di-electric grease on the contacts when you buy them.
