Replacing a docking light

I need to replace a broken front docking light on our 2002 Dutch Star DP. The light appears to be held in place just by the rubber grommet around it. I have access to both the front and back sides of the light. Should the light be removed from the front or back side? Any tricks to make the task easy? Thanks in advance for your reply.

I have popped mine out to the outside a lot easier than crawling under coach, there was enough slack to work on it and easier to pop back in hole.
