Replacing light in Newmar entryway grab bar
Our grab bar light no longer works with the porch light on our 2017 DSDP. Has anyone replaced this light? If so how is the old light removed? It appears fused into the metal structure. And, what light was used to replace it? Pictures below
Thanks in advance

That socket looks corroded, so a good soaking in vinegar should clean it up.
Find a replacement LED bulb and put a little dielectric grease on the base when you put it all back together.

Thanks UT. Any further comments anyone else on the type of light and how to remove it?

I just went through this on my '19 DS. That bulb is not replaceable. I was told by Newmar that end piece with bulb and the handle itself is obsolete???Anyway, I destroyed what was there to expose the mounting hole for the bulb. I went to the last of the remaining electronic supply houses and purchased (to be different) a blue and a green 12V LED bulb of the approximate size that was there originally.(came with pigtails) I had to drill the handle one drill index size larger to take the bulb. I installed the blue LED with a dab of GE silicone and let it dry. Soldered the leads onto the coach wiring, some heat shrink- done. I have a blue backlit handle. If it fails, or if I decide to change to green I can do that. There are clear bulbs also, with pigtails. These lamps have a built in diode. There are a number of websites, including www.modeltrainsoftware.com that may work for you. I was not going to buy a new complete handle each time the lamp fails.

Can't believe it is not replaceable! Any chance you can drill out the old light and replace it with one like this one?

Hint: don't use red color on the door. My wife took one look at the red light and said NO WAY! My granddaughter was laughing so hard and had to explain the facts of life to me about red lights over doors! Who knew?

OK, repair is underway but here is an update.
The light is removable. After cutting the two wires that lead to the light assembly and testing for 12 volts to verify it was the bulb I followed an earlier post recommendation and filled the bowl with white vinegar and let it set for 15 minutes. The vinegar made its way past the bulb which was a good sign. I then both pushed down on the bulb and used a pair of needle nose pliers on the base of the bulb to pry it off the back of the metal assembly.
Here is a picture of the bulb. I followed another posters recommendation and have ordered some replacement lights at $2.25 each from the listed website and should be able to finish the project when I receive the bulbs.
