Replacing old Tube tv with LCD

I have a 2005 Mountain Aire and am looking for information about the procedure for removal of the old TV. I cannot find much info about how it is held in place in the overhead cabinet. I can see the screws about 1.5" from the bottom on the sides that were covered with snap-on buttons. Are these the only attachments of the TV?

Usually that face is removed, and the tv will come out pretty easy.

Then, some have welded mounts to the upper braces inside, some have mounted a bracket to the frame you just removed, mount an LED TV 12 volt, and pop it back up. I know there is a detailed post somewhere with photos... different RV, but I'm sure the procedure is similar.

I'll google it for you and pop it in here if I can find it.

Once I got the TV out I took a 2x6 (or was it a 2x8?) and screwed it in place (running screws into the wood from the side cabinets) and mounted my new flat screen tv to it. Worked pretty slick.

TV

Be careful when you get it loose cause those old ones weigh a ton I got mine loose and had a neighbor help with lowering it out of the cabinet. On mine
( 2005 Kountry Star) I was able to trim the wood trim around the front of the cabinet and fit a 32 inch one inside the cabinet for travel. I mounted it to a telescoping arm mounted sideways, so for viewing it can pull out of the cabinet and drop down almost as low as the dash ( no more stiff neck from looking up) When traveling it is held inside the cabinet with a nylon type strap the is attached inside the cabinet and unseen
I'm traveling now but when home maybe next week I can take a few pictures if that would help

There are two screws about 2" long up high on the tv frame that are removed from the two side cabinets. The screw heads have deep counter bores so thay can be hard to see. You have found the 2 lower screws. Once the wood frame is removed, there is a bracket screwed to the top of tv that must be removed.

Go to the Newmar TV Sticky on this forum titled "Removal of a TV from a 2004 Mountain Aire". It shows exactly how these frame screws are removed.

Takes two to get it out and yes it's heavy.
