Replacing True Induction counter top unit

I learned as if today our induction stove unit must be replaced in our 2016 DutchStar. Just two years old. Fans will not shut off unless power is disconnected. As it would have it the stove is just few days over warranty. Newmar will not warranty it and it is just over the one yr. period for True Induction. Has anyone ever replaced the same. It is a two burner stove top. Newmar wants over $600 for a new unit. How difficult would it be to replace instead of having technicians install a new unit. Any input would be appreciated.

I bought one from Amazon for around $425, first time they sent me a used/repackaged unit so I returned it and got a new one. Had to cut the opening larger since I was replacing a gas cooktop. If you get the same unit it's just lift it out, unplug the old one, plug the new one in and set in place.

Sorry. Didn’t see all your reply. I was curious how the new unit was installed. Is it glue to counter top or some form of clamp. Thanks

The cooktop just drops in, but Newmar did put a sealer around the edge so you will need to run a sharp knife around the edge. I also replaced mine with one I bought from Amazon. My old one would not operate if the voltage dropped below 115.

Mine is just a drop in unit. Had to cut the solid surface counter and build a support framework as the instructions said. The unit I got can also be lifted out and used on a table, but I also have a songle hob unit for that use.

Not true for 2016 models.

I understand that. That is why I mentioned the year of my coach. A friend on mine has a 2016 and he got the same unit I have and it worked perfectly. It just does not sit down in the counter with covers like mine. It sits almost flush with the counter top. He did not seal it down this time so that he could remove it and use outside if wanted.

I’ll look at mine later but I think you can access whatever hardware that holds it in by pulling out the drawer and getting to it from underneath. Should be easy.

Here is the one that is an insert for 296.00. Simple drop in installation however as someone else mentioned you will need to break the seal. With our we just dropped in the new top and did not reseal.
