Request Allison Trans info

I would like to change the transmission oil in my '98 Mountain Aire motor home, fitted with a 5.9 Cummins engine and 4-speed Allison tranny.

How do I determine if this is a deep or shallow pan?

How much fluid will I need for either?

If changing to synthetic, are there additional steps to the conversion?

Thanks in advance to everyone who has helps with this question as well as those who have helped with questions I have asked in the past!

Mike

The best thing to do is call Allison for the specs. I did on my previous coach and they were very helpful with the information.

The filters are pretty straight forward and you will need a large drip pan. Calling Allison is a great idea.

Don't know which 4 speed you have but...I just changed the oil in my AT545. In my case I have the deep pan and I drained 4 gallons, filled with 4 gallons. Did not change the pan filter but did the inline spin on.
