Residential Refrigerators In Newmar Dutch Star

Hello Everyone,

The DW and I own a 2004 Newmar Dutch Star Model #DSDP 4009 and we are attempting to convert the refrigerator to a residential model. Our refrigerator is located in our kitchen slide and we are having trouble finding a unit that will fit.

Please share any information you may have regarding residential refrigerators that you have exchanged for a unit that was in a slide. We are being told that the space we have is smaller depth wise because it is in the slide.

The unit we were planning to use was a Samsung RF-18 17.5 CU-FT. We are open to most any brand that will fit, we truly don't want to replace with a new Norcold RV unit.

Thank You, Tee & Gee

Mine is not in slide but I put in a GE comparable to the RF18 you mention. Ordered from HD. I made a lifesize template of the new fridge to make sure it would fit in door and the new location. Here's the thread for my install.

I replaced a Norcold 1210 in our motorhome this past summer. Ours too was in the kitchen slide. I was able to open up area significantly to increase options on new fridge. We went wit an LG. 21.8 cu. ft.
Most importantly is, do you have a furnace located below the existing fridge? This greatly reduces options. If you’ll pm me a pic of your existing fridge, I’ll be happy to give you some ideas.Click image for larger version

Look at the Haier line of refers. They make smaller units.
