I have an issue with my thermostate. While we were in the Keys my front (zone 1) inside temperature went nuts with readings of 180 F. or so. I e-mailed Newmar and asked if they could send me a replacement sensor. Shortly after that I noticed a failure on two occassions where the A/C would not shutdown even after the temp went well below the setting temp.
Anyway, after that it worked about normal. Today the sensor arrived and I replaced it. (I've done one before, zone two last year) The inside temp for zone #1 maintained 79, prior to removal, totally disconnected and after the new unit was plugged in. It did not vary, so I shutdown the DC power briefly. Upon turning it on all temp readings counted up from zero to their reading except zone #1 which remained at "0 F." I tried the off reset again without success. Anybody got any experience with this?

Don't know if this will help. When we took delivery the outside tank display did not work. North trail replaced it then reset the control panel to recognize it. I wasn't watching what he did, sorry.

Thanks John, yes it's made by E-Plex and is software driven. Problem is the software is not generally available and I don't know where the interface port is anyway. But, thanks, it's good to know North Trail has had some experience working on them.

Good morning Peter, We had similar issues with ours.Air just kept running when temp was satified, interior temp. readout shooting up to 170-180 degrees and then back down etc...When at newmar they replaced e-plex controller, still had trouble. The next day they replaced all 3 sensors, looks ok untill we got home and had temp redout runaway again.!So far it's been working better but we haven't been using the coach untill we head to florida in march. At that time i will have north trail check it out again.I think they are having some issues, but not sure if it's software or electronic in nature.Good luck for both of us.! I just talked to North Trail, they are going to try to get Terry out to me tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully it's an easy fix. I sure would like to learn more about it anyway.

I've had North Trail re-program my panel, then I had Newmar (at the Essex Rally in OR) do the same. Zone one still ranges up to 170' whenever it feels like it. Hope one of you finds out why.

I had not heard of this problem... now I have something else that I will have to watch and worry about. Last year Northtrail relaced the #2 sensor, but then I found out it is as much about where the sensor is mounted by Newmar than inaccurate readings. I wonder if the newest coaches have had the sensors moved in order to obtain more realistic readings?
Peter, you had better be kind to me because Terry is coming to me first tomorrow... I might be bribed in order to release him early to Riverbend.

I was reading an article in FMCA on the new Featherlite coaches coming out. One thing about the new integrated system is that when there is a failure of the computer there are manual overides for each system/component that the owner can use while waiting for repairs.
This type of situation, I would guess, is exactly why they put that redundancy in.
I hope it is a simple and/or fast fix Peter. Zone 1 is usually the hottest part of the coach.

Chuck, Don't be delaying Terry just to work on the Chuck Wagon. I don't know whether he has others also at RB, so tell him to get me first. Pretty Please!
Scott, Actually the heat is not bad. While the #1 AC will not run the fans will, and capture some of the cold air from #2. Certainly livable.

007, Please send cold air as advertised. I understand I'm under no obligation to keep it and may return said box of air if not completely happy. But Wait!!!!! If you order right now we will include at no additional charge, a bag of salty slush and frost bitten appendage. That's right, all that at no extra cost. You just pay the shipping and handling.
Just pay the Shipping? That is usually equal to privately hiring a personal 747! And handling? They must use 200 people for 7 hours to "handle" the bad boy to run up such a bill.
Other than that, things are cool.
