Retracting FWSlide after rain.

This morning we were getting ready to leave Orlando, and while retracting the big slide, something did not feel right. Stopped half way and stepped on the driver seat to look on top. The fabric of the slide topper above the slide was sucked inside the whole length of the slide? Extended the slide, unpacked the step ladder and looked on top. The slide topper was a big hammock full of water.
So the roller spring could not overcome the weight while retracting. Got my big squeegee and managed to get most of the water out. Than it was fine.
So, keep in mind, after rain, make sure there is no pooled water in the topper if you have to bring the slide in.

I stay often at the KOA in Orlando and live in South FL. Living here we better lean how to deal with torrential rain storms that occur regularly.

One thing I do after a rain and prior to closing the slides is I use the jacks to tilt from front to back or visa versa to make sure most of the water runs off. I have a slide sweep but I do not want to relay on that as gravity will never fail you. Depending on the slope of the spot I am i will determine which way I tilt.

Good luck

Once we retract jacks the rain water runs off. Then pull in slides
