When it comes to price there maybe a deal out there, I would ask RF Mogul if they have a Canadian Distributor and reach out to them.
Shaw will be changing things. No one knows for sure but much of the content will be on new Bird with aCanada only footprint. No service much beyond the USA border. Some say there will still be service on the old satellite. I would not want to invest in an expensive set up that will not work. But Shaw has thousands of Americans that have the service through a broker. Shaw may be under pressure to eliminate those customers. Shaw is not supposed to provide service in the USA. Why not get a tripod for now. By spring there should be more info available. I also noticed that of mogul does not show any dealers in Canada Very overpriced. Satellite tv is old technology and is changing. Many people are streaming. Shaw has a streaming service but they can tell if you are on an American server. They are not supposed to provide that service in the USA.

I was not aware of these changes coming. I am not surprised the learn this as Shaw is following Bell with the change. The more efficient new satellites has tighter spot beams allowing the broadcast to pinpoint their footprint.

I looked at streaming and in order to make it work I will need to setup a VPN (virtual private network) to prevent the address from becoming a US one. I won’t bother this year but perhaps across the summer I will play with this to be ready for next winter.

We have had an RF Mogul Dish for 4-5 years. Was installed on a prior coach and had it transferred to our present coach. Works great with no issues. Currently have the Dish Network version. When Dish changed their Sat configuration several years back which prevented the dish from locking onto the Sat, RF Mogul had the fix on their web site and was able to download it to a thumb drive which was then inserted into the controller to correct the issue immediately. Great product and service
