Wash and wax just like you should be doing on the sides.

There is no clear-coat on the white section of the roof so there is no UV protection and the gelcoat will "chalk". Hence the white streaking down the side of the coach. Some owners just wash the roof frequently to remove the chalk but I use Nu-Finish on mine once a year to prevent that happening. It's a large area so I prefer a product that doesn't need applying every few months.

If you want to just clean your roof, look at products by Aero Cosmetics. I have used them and am very happy with them.

Following is an article in Motorhome Magazine on their products.

https://www.motorhome.com/motorhomes.../dry-cleaning/

The article focuses on cleaning the roof, but they have products for the sides.

What I really like is that I don't have to do it all at one time. When I get tired, or it gets hot, I stop. When at a campground, and have some time, I do some.

I just finished waxing the fiberglass roof on our 2013 DS yesterday . I do it 2x a year and wash it after every trip. The first time I waxed I used a past wax and what a pain that was on the non-skid areas of the roof. Since then, I've used Optimum Spray Wax. It goes on easy, just spray and wipe.... no need to polish to a mirror shine on the roof. The Optimum has UV inhibitors, that's why I chose it.

303 protectant is good also. Just spray on and wipe (after wash, or wash/wax).

While it is correct they do not clear coat our roofs, I personally would never consider actually waxing mine. Not only would it be unsafe if I had to go up there when it was damp but if I needed a service tech to be up there I believe there would some liability attached.

There are different products you can use that takes away the chalking and seals it for a year of more. In between that process if you coat it with 303 every 3 or 4 months you won't get the white streaks down the side.

I do my own and the product is sold at CW and other places (can't think of the name right now). RV detail company just did my neighbors Tiffin bus last week for $75 with the exact same stuff.

What are the products that prevent chalking?
