Roof Drain Blocked

The right rear roof drain at the back of my motorhome is blocked and will not let any water go down. I've tried to free the block with several wires and brushes to no avail. Any suggestion on how to get things moving will be greatly appreciated.

For small drains I use an old Speedometer cable or compresses air. Be careful with the compressed air not to over pressure the drain. Good Luck DR

Shop vac from bottom. Alternating suction or blowing.

That's what I use too. I rigged up an adaptor with parts from Home Depot.

Been thinking about doing that to simplify the process. Can you share a pic of your set-up?

You need to get on the roof and clean the cover to the drain, then you use compressed air on blower with a cone. You have to get past the duck bill on the drain and then you can blow out the drain line. You should do this to each drain line.

Bobby, are you blowing compressed air from the bottom past the duck bill? Or down from the top? My 2020 Ventana doesn't have drain covers. I ordered drain covers from Newmar, but I couldn't get them to fit so I sent them back. Apparently they were for Dutch Star, which must have a different cover. I cannot get one of my rear drains to clear after multiple attempts at blowing compressed air from the bottom. I'm hesitant to blow from the top as I'm concerned this would just jam everything up in an elbow in the drain tube.

I add water to the drain on the roof and used compressed air from the bottom. By adding the water, you create a better seal, and you know it's clear when the water starts running down the tube and onto your hands,

You blow up from the bottom. Just make sure your blower is at the drain hose and not just inside the rubber at the end. It should make a mess on the side of the coach, but you will see that the drains are cleared at that point. If it's not clearing from the bottom, you can try from the top but will need an adapter. It's much harder to go from the top.

I removed the duck bills just to make this process easier. Never put them back on. Have not seen any downside to removing them so far. Only need to clear a couple drains once a year.

Found the duckbill's are part of the problem......mine are gone also, found pouring a gallon of hot tap water slowly will open the blockage from the top. Use to blow from the bottom, found debris making the blockage went up and hit the metal plate with the holes in it and just stayed in there.........one time blowing from the bottom, got covered with nasty wet debris and brown water along with the side of the Coach.......

Thanks for all the advice. Suggestion to all. Clean these out before they get plugged up!
