Frankly, jtovo, when traveling we avoid places with that kind of neighbors.

Now on this,, I will second Steve.. At least in part.

I've been on my roof (300 pounds plus) along with Shawn (Close to my size and a professional techniican) replacing the blower motor in my Air Conditioner.. BUT NO CHAIRS.. I would be worried about a chair or a woman's high heel punching through the roof..

And as Steve pointed out If some idiot stumbles too close to the edge and breakes his darn fool neck when he hits the ground 1 second later (Or less) (you fall 16 feet in one second and land at about 20 MPH, Feet, not rounded 20mph is).

Alcohol increases the odds of Idiot.

In fact one definition of Idiot is DRINKS ALCOHOL.
(Not the reason I'm a coffeeholic by the way, I can be idiot, I just can't stand the taste of alcohol).

So I would say stay off the roof UNLESS you build a proper stage up there with guard rails and stairs instead of a ladder.

OH, and the ladder on a motor home (Verticle, not slanted) is the most dangerous kind of ladder.. I used to be a ladder monkey (Roofer) in my youth.

Call Newmar and see if your model MH is rated for what you want to do. That should be the real answer to the question.

If you were in NOLA for mardi gras and on a 2nd story balcony with a Hurricane in your hand, would you be okay with not having a railing?
Having over 1000 lbs on a balcony rated for 300 lbs?
With beverages being spilled over the side and under foot?
With other friends and relatives in the crowd below?

You can always add a roof deck for better support.
Newmar roof studs 16" on center plenty of support for roof deck.

Great Responses.......Some had me laughing to the point of crying. Thanks to everyone for chiming in. You have convinced me to stick to my guns and place the roof off limits.
