My advice is to find an agent that understands RV insurance. There was one mentioned above and the Tobin Agency and Miller Agency come to mind. The rates vary too much from state to state to say that one company is "best". The service can also be all over the board. I had Auto Owners here in Michigan who everyone says had good service. I had a collision with a deer a few years ago and fought with Auto Owners for about 6 months to get OEM parts instead of LKQ parts. I finally wrote to the president of the company and got what I wanted but I shouldn't have had to do that. My point being that service seems to be a crap shoot. Good luck.

Exactly.
Another way to weed out the bad ones is just google “10 worst insurance companies”. It’s somewhat surprising that some of the most well known ones are the worst and they spend the most advertising, and I have found, they also spend the most trying to avoid paying claims. Good hands my arse.

Congratulations on your Ventana. We have a 2020 Dutchstar and love it….love Newmar. Had a Baystar before. You’ll be very happy. With both RV’s we went through Good Sam that searches 4 providers for quotes. We are Good Sam members so they offer discounts. Both times the best quote came from National General insurance. In addition, what we like about them is that you can put it ‘in storage’ for the winter and not pay for the collision part of the policy. This saves us money. We’ve not had to use it, however, so can’t speak to that part. Of course, insurance is always something you hope you never have to use. Good luck

I had Safeco for about 3 days. When it came to signing the docs, they had the wrong name of my motorhome. I asked them to change it and they would not. They wanted me to sign it and the binder had the correct spelling of the motorhome. Except in small print on the binder it says the policy bundle supercedes the binder. Where do they get the policy bundle? From the signed Docs. Plus they were over $1000 cheaper than everyone else. Not a good thing if they don't cover anything because the signing docs were wrong. You get what you pay for.

Safeco said it was Brown & Brown of Kentucky's job to change it and B&B said it was Safeco. I spent 3 hours on the phone with Safeco, got hung up 3 times, transferred to the nether regions of call centers and finally raise a fit. Finally someone at Safeco said they would cancel the policy. If this is how they deal with customers I can only imagine what they will do with claims. What a frustrating joke.
