Hi,
Does anyone have a recommendation for "RV" insurance? A particular company that specializes in Class "A" motor homes, with good rates, & excellent coverage? I have had automobile insurance with USAA for 52 years, but am not sure about their "RV" coverage. Any help is appreciated.
Am purchasing a 2003 Newmar Mountain Aire 38' coach, and need to insure it, almost immediately.
This is a totally new experience for me, & the wife. Hopefully this will be the beginning of "new roads traveled", and a lot of fun in the future!

We've had our auto insurance through USAA for a few years now. When we got our BSS this spring, we looked to them, but unfortunately they don't sell insurance for Class A's here in California. Fortunately, they do partner with Progressive, and we got what I think is a good rate from them. $700/year for full coverage, comprehensive with maximum dollar limits.

if you're not fulltiming then cintact the majors and cimpare coverage vs premuim. we've had State Farm for all of our vehicles since 1970.

We are on a second coach I have progressive for RV so far so good.

If you have homeowners' insurance, check with that company to see if they offer RV insurance. That was the best buy for us when bundling the HO insurance along with auto and rv insurance. Just be sure to check coverage limits....i.e. make sure you are comparing comparable coverages when checking rates at Progressive or elsewhere.

Have had travelers, progressive and safeco - all depending on rates - had excellent claims experience with safeco when I did have a claim

Actually bought a 2004 Mountain Aire, gas coach! Am picking it up on Nov. 30th. Did contact USAA, & they have an referral relationship with Progressive. The USAA agent transferred me to Progressive, & they gave me policy info. Plan to contact them this week to activate coverage.
A close friend with multiple RV ownership suggested "extended warranty coverage", & acquired a 3yr unlimited mileage full coverage contract! I'm hoping I made the right decision on it, as I've read multiple "good & bad" about them. Some of those companies only go back 10 years!
We are excited about this new venture in our lives, but probably won't take any trips til warmer weather. I plan to use the time to become familiar with driving it, the operation of everything in the "coach", which all of you know is vast.
Looking forward to being more active in this group, & plan to learn all I can from the wealth of knowledge available!
