I also don’t recommend taking them to court. They won’t care and unless you’re going to lose mega dollars by not staying there, it’s not worth it.

But you may want to have a little piece of mind in that you stirred the pot. IF THIS FORUM ALLOWS COPYING, I’d copy these posts and send it to them. Then I’d research who owns them and send a certified letter showing yours and everyone’s disgust with how their managers do business. If they’re BBB members, let them know also.

Sad thing is, they wronged you and most people have short memories. Maybe a billboard?

People today live and die by internet reviews. Find every place you can and post a fact based 1 star report. Might want everyone in your party to do so.

I would never book at an rv resort that could unilaterally cancel a booking… how does one plan a trip in that manner?

That wouldn't be good enough for me!

I want to be in the site they Guaranteed me! The only exception would be if the rig in there was broken down, and couldn't move.

I wrote a comprehensive (negative) review about a local park in RV Park Reviews. Three years later I'm still getting notices that people are reading and responding to that review.

I would be lighting them up on every review platform I could find.

I would tell the owner/management: "I hope it was worth it to you because you just bought yourself a lifetime of horrible reviews".
I told that to a car dealer once and he was out of business a few years later. Probably not due to me alone, but damage from sketchy business practices is cumulative.

If you're still coming to Florida, and need a spot to rent, you may be able to get a rental at Mount Olive Shores North in Polk City. It's a very high quality and beautiful resort community. Class A rental only.

We own our place here and have no connection to the realtor, nor do we rent our property out. Just found your story to be really awful and trying to help. - Paul

If interested, contact Douglas Dillard Realty.

Well, that is pretty a dirty way to treat customers. Get back to them and tell them fine, but you expect to be pair 10% interest on the money for the time they held it. If they won't give you interest, file a complaint with the BBB and the state attorney general's office. May not get anywhere, but you might feel better.

Squeak and see if the wheel gets greased.

Since you are traveling from California, I'd let them know it was a destination and not just a visit. Make them pay for your travel expenses, either way you were not treated right. Hope you receive some type of restitution.

You might try "Strawberry Fields for RV'ers" in Chiefland, FL We are here for the winter.
clean and quiet, and the monthly price is better than most .

Terrible way to treat a customer. That being said, there isn’t much you can do. If they send back your deposit, you are pretty limited on damages even if you hired an attorney and took them to court. As for a bad review, it might make you feel a bit better but the business won’t care. Too many people posting minor grievances as full blown rants has watered down negative reviews to the point they no longer matter. And almost no one cares about the BBB anymore and haven’t since Al Gore invented the internet. Sorry this happened.
