They were honest with you, even if their decision didn't go your way. In return, give them an honest review. They don't seem all that concerned about it though, but maybe it will change their thinking. It seems unlikely, but who knows. I'd be miffed too, but there are bigger things to be miffed about. Roll on. Enjoy the adventure.

I see where the original agreement said that they could "change" the site if it was sold, but didn't say they can cancel the reservations. It's a shame but there's really isn't much you can do. These places are in such demand that they know people will still stay even with bad reviews, as long as they aren't about the amenities. There is a YouTube RV couple who just purchased a site in FL where they were told they couldn't use it for the next 6 months because it was already rented. Obviously it was not this place.

Is this the new way of doing business in the rv industry? Can you no longer rely on a “confirmed” reservation? I’m incredibly saddened by this situation and sure hope it’s not the way of the future for rv parks. Needless to say, this park will no longer be on our list and I hope others will think long and hard before they make reservations there.

They have a facebook page.

There are many RV review sites, I'd hit them all.
I wouldn't let them of the hook. Social media is a powerful tool...

I looked here several years ago. It was under development at that time. I wasn’t impressed with them and it seems they have had issues. Since that time I found a much nicer facility. But they keep contacting me about signing up to stay. I actually went there and checked it out.

I'm with Bbelanger - since I've retired, I have the time and desire to share an honest position with others. I always check reviews before staying anywhere for more than a couple of nights. La Mesa lost an RV sale last year because of their BBB reviews. I'm now sitting happily in a 2020 DSDP because of that.

If you don't get your money back, file a dispute with your credit card company.
Make sure Campsite Reviews knows your story...your experience is
greedy, shameful and totally lacks integrity on the part of the RV resort.

That's a great idea. Everyone should start doing this. It's the only way that will change things.

Just read this thread on IRV2 about what Palm Beach Motor Coach did to a paid customer;

I'm changing my 5 star to a 1 star, there is never a need to be that money hungry to do what you did Sherry!

Agreed. The terms would indicate an alternative site would be offered. If you’re going to be in the area, a personal visit requesting your deposit might help.

Thank you!
I want to thank you for relaying this information! I am going to put them on my "DONT BOOK" list. Just like their shoddy cancelation policy, I as a consumer think that what they did to you was completely unethical as a business! No other place in this industry would you find somebody who does this! I booked at a resort called Quails Run who refused to refund my entire $1,200 unless someone was sick. We are not talking $100 here. Fortunately but unfortunately my husband ended up in the hospital and I sent them a letter cc'd to my attorney as well. They refunded my money but I will NEVER book with them again and I will add your Resort on as well! That is the best thing you can do as a consumer is spread the word and do not go there do not support their business ever!

Post on all social media. Facebook and Google Ratings. Be specific. Name the business and provide contact information. This is the best way to show your dissatisfaction.

Thank you! Will never stay there again if that is there new policy. We could never depend on the reservation. We never stayed over 2 weeks. Zero weeks from now on.

I would post just the facts on as many rv websites as possible as well as rvtripwizard. What they did was extremely unprofessional as well as totally unacceptable. The park should live with the consequences.

Our issue is surely less serious, but still irritating. We booked a 3 day stay in a park in Louisiana. Due to some travel changes we wanted to change it to 2 nights. Park doesn’t accept departures on Saturday. I went into to site to try and book 2 days and sure enough on the bottom of all the different site types was the comment “we do not accept arrivals or departures on Saturday. Fortunately inexpensive so if we decide not to stay not a great loss. Then booking a reservation in mid March in Arizona park, $20 lock fee for site. Since they only had one site available for those days didn’t want to take the risk of not getting a spot. Not sure if you don’t lock, are you guaranteed a spot, just not that one? Everyone seems to be using CampSpot as their booking system. Just wait until they are begging for us to come stay with them when the bottom falls out…and we all know it will eventually happen.
