Talking Same thing different names

Originally from NY and now living in NC we called some things different.
The plaster boards for the walls we called sheetrock and in NC they call it wallboard. The 3' rod threaded from one end to the other was called threaded rod and here its called altread. The u shape channel that electricans use was called Kindoff and here its unistut. North west they call soda pop.
What are some of the things you heard.

I beg to differ... in the East they call pop, soda....

Down here in Yuma the Canadians call a garage (Ga-rah-ge) a graaage (graje)...

They also call a pitcher of beer a "jug" of beer... Why can't the English speak English?

Is that narrow area of grass between the sidewalk and the street, called a "swale" or the "parking strip". All depends on where you live!

Believe me, Winnebago does not want it either! If it happens too much they will lose the rights to the name.

Band-Aid, and Aspirin are two brand names that have become synonymous with the product and the maker lost the rights to the name. Coke has been fighting it for years.

I recently went into a Lowe's and asked to see "Skil" saws. The helper said: "Do you mean hand held power saws. (Skil is another brand name coming close to losing their brand for power saws.
