Sanicon Hose and Sleeve Installation

Well I finally got around to posting my Sanicon Turbo 600S in the 05 DS. I wanted to post the pictures with notes above them but could not figure out how to do it so hopefully the pictures below make sense with the comments above.
I studied all the installs I could on the internet to help with my layout. Lots of great ideas on the forum and I did duplicate parts of many of them in the wet bay

The first challenge and the main reason for the post was how to get the sleeve over the hose to protect it. I went with the Protec Nylon Sleeve option many have recommended on iRV2. I searched how others installed it on the hose but no luck. Studied the possibilities and landed on a method that was super simple and easy to do. Maybe a 5 minute job to get the sleeving on the hose if you have similar items to do it with. I used a 1.5” pipe, push broom handle and a nut and bolt.

Picture 1 is the hose and Protec sleeve
Picture 2 is the 1.5” section of pipe, broom handle and nut and bolt. I used a blind nut as it was just easier to push in the broom handle and not worry with getting to it in the pipe.

Picture 4 is attached pipe with broom handle to hose and add a few tie wraps to secure it. Not sure they were needed as it was a tight fit with the pipe and broom:

Picture 5 is the sleeve on the hose and compressed hose. This is simple to do as the sleeve slides right over the unexpanded/compressed hose. You will end up with a large portion of the sleeve on the pipe and broom handle:
Picture 6 you will need help from an assistant. Just pull on opposite ends and extend the compressed hose. The sleeve will slide right over the sleeve. When you release it the sleeve crumbles up very nicely and stays on the hose:
Picture 7 is pipe out and you have it. I added a few tie wraps to clean things up and heat shrink after I took this picture. This hose is actually the extra extension hose just in case I need it due to sewer location.
Hopefully this helps someone down the road trying to figure out how to put a protective sleeve over a Sanicon Hose.

Next post will be the changes to the water outlet opening. On a 05 DS is to small for the 1.5” Sanicon hose and water hose. I’ll post that update soon.

I must admit I spent 30 minutes trying to pull it over the hose and decided there had to be a better way. Came up with this idea and it was really simple to do it so I felt like I needed to share.

I just did this last week. Tied a piece of paracord to the hose and a wrench on the other end. Dropped the wrench through the sleeve, pulled the rope while the wife pulled the hose. Sleeve slid on in 5 minutes with no problems. You could tie the rope off and pull the sleeve by yourself if your alone.

Amazon. A bit pricey. They are other options at a cheaper price. This stuff is super heavy duty and should protect it well.

2X on the quality of the hose and highly recommend it. Did mine late last September and it's holding up extremely well at this point. Also used heat shrink tubing over the stainless hose clamps to finish off the ends
