Satellite Radio antenna

I have a 2007 DSDP and run a portable Satellite radio. My question is has anybody installed an external antenna ,and if so how did you do it.
I really don't want to drill a hole in the side of the coach, but on the other hand I don't want to remove the ceiling either. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Joe
I made a sheet metal shelf that I mounted to the DS side window by mounting it to one of the window screws. The antenna is loose and sits on the shelf. Works OK for XM. I can take a pic when I get home.

I installed an XM magnetic antenna on the top of the front cap. I mounted with double face tape a piece of galvanized metal for the antenna to attach to. Then drilled a hole through the cap to run the wire down the pillar at the windshield. Used a Winegard coax cover to seal where wire came through the cap. When you remove the cover from the windshield pillar you'll see other wires and the air lines for the air horns. Just run the wire down the pillar and under the dash to wherever it is you want to mount your docking station.

Hi redwing2,
I've done what Rotten-Red posted many, many times (my coach + others). The only difference is I drilled a hole in the cap for the wire to pass through. All one needs to do is epoxy the hole closed. No mess or leaks.

Did your coach come with a sat radio. If it did there is an antannae connection by the radio. My old coach came with one and I connected my portable to that under the dash. I have not had good luck with the antanna sitting on the dash or next to the window. It's good for a while but then when you turn sometimes you loose the signal. I also velcroed it one time and ran the wire thru the corner of the door. I taped the wire acros the top but that was temporary. It worked good.
