We are in a park that has trees blocking our roof-top satellite dish. We need to hook up a
tripod mounted dish to receive Direct TV. Where do we hook the cable up to?
We have cable TV running into the recepticle in the electrical bay. I can not locate another feed in receptical.

I use the cable feed to hook up my portable dish. I then have to unhook the cable in from my distribution box and connect it to the sat receiver.

I connect the wire from the portable DTV dish to the cable TV hookup in the electrical bay. At the distribution box, I choose cable TV. For my coach, this works.

Gary,
I never have used my portable DTV dish, so I have no experience in it.
I don't understand how hooking the sat. cable, to where you normally connect the campground cable, then switching to cable at the distribution box, will get satellite reception. That path doesn't feed through the satellite receiver. The way I thought I would have to do mine is hook the sat. cable to the regular cable input, in the basement area, then disconnect the existing cable from the back of the sat. rec. and hook in the cable that is at the top of the cabinet and looks like a closed loop.
