satellite Woes

We have a 2013 Ventana with 3 TVs. Any ideas on how to get satellite TV on the one in the bedroom? We were told when we bought the rig it was prepped or satellite. We had a dish installed and was told by the dealership that installed it that the bedroom had no cable ran to hook up to the dish. Is this a common occurrence or not? Would really like to find out and decide what the next course of action will be for getting the situation resolved.

This has been discussed about a month ago, one solution was to use some kind of wireless device. Do a search to find the discussion. There were a few recommendations.

On my Ventana (with Satellite) we went with Dish. This required us to have two Satellite receivers. One I installed in the cabinet directly above the drivers seat and the second one was installed in a cabinet below the TV in the bedroom. If you go with Direct TV you still need receivers for the Tv'S.

The Dish receiver in the front of the coach controls the main TV on the televator and the TV outside if you have one. The only downside to this is both TV's will be on the same channel if you are using Satellite. Often if I am outside and my wife is inside she may want to watch something on Satellite and I want to watch something on a local channel. In that case I just set the input for the outside TV to antenna. This allows both TV's to operate different channels independent of one another. You could do the same thing with cable TV.

The bedroom TV receiver is just for the bedroom TV. If you are using the Satellite just make sure the TV signal input is set accordingly.

Hope this helps

Stock, you SHOULD have a second coax wire that is run to the bedroom. This would require a second receiver.

You could do as I did and use a wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver to pump the same signal from a single receiver from the front to the bedroom.

You didn't mention what Sat dish you have. This will determine the setup and whether you can watch different channels on each TV.

Yes, is it a dome or an open dish?

It's a dish mounted midway on the roof of the rig

If it is an open dish, then I assume it is a Winegard Trav'ler. It is either the DirecTV or Dish model. If you have coax running to each of your TVs from your entertainment center cabinet I believe you should be able to get HD on all of your TVs. At least I can using a Dish Hopper and Joey setup.

Thanks Mike,
Actually the dish is a Winegard SM 1000 (open dish)
