Screen door latch part

I have a 2018 DSDP. A couple years a go Newmar added a latch to the screen door so you do not have to open the little window to open the door. Does anyone know the name and part number. And is there a place to buy it other than Newmar?

Thanks,

Marc

You buy a new door to replace your current one. The new plexiglass slider has handles on it that releases the catch. I bought in from PTL Engineering in Lapeer, MI. They make the doors and some other parts for Newmar and other brands. I also bought the snap that will hold down the sliding screen that kept going up every time I shut the door. They are extremely helpful.

Sorry, I held my camera the wrong way and the pictures are not oriented correctly but, I believe you can see the difference from your current plexiglass slider.

Yep that is the lever I was looking for. I meet someone that had it installed on a door prior to it being standard.

I installed linchpin on the screen to keep it from constantly going up.

Very easy install for the new door. PTL sent me the instructions with the door. If not they will help you over the phone. Took me about five minutes.

Does this mean simply buying the new plexiglass panel with the flipper installed, or do you really mean "buy a new door?"

EDIT: checking the PLL website, I found that you can buy just the acrylic panel with flipper handle installed.

Not a new door. Just the plexiglass slider with the flapper.

I removed the catch on the door (2 screws) and used magnetic tape from H,D. on a small portion of the door and jam. Cost $5 , pushes open and closes by itself.

Hi, I was going to adjust mine and I have lost the spring. When I took it apart, I never saw it. Could you tell me what the spring looks like? TIA.

I don’t think we are referring to the same thing. The plexiglass slider door with the flipper came from PTL fully assembled. No spring or anyway I can see to take that apart. To remove the plexiglass door without the flippers and install the the door with the flippers is simply a matter of removing the plastic spacer on the bottom track, remove old door, install new door and then reinsert the plastic spacer in the track.
