Question SeeLevel Install on 06 Mtn Aire 4032

I am having issues mapping out the wires on my 06 Mtn Aire 4032 to the new wires on the SL monitor. Using the standard 709 directions there's no compatible mapping I can see. Anyone with experience doing this so I don't mess things up. Thanks!

Nothing in your owners guide to help you.
You can use a Newmar search using this link.\ or Google the name on the control you see for wiring prints.

0 info in the manuals I have. When I purchased back in March it didn't come with a good set of docs. Thanks for reminding me of google again. What would we do without it.....

The Seelevel does not use the same wires as you have.

The way seeleve works is there are 2 wires that create a bus. You need to connect each pair to itself, and then make the connection at the control

What you are going to do is cut the wires going from your existing system and reuse the wire to create the new bus.

This requires getting into the wetbay, findnig the wires from the current sensors and choosing 2 wires to reuse.

Since you have the colors exposed on the one end, you are looking for matching colors..hoping that newmar didn't splice into this with a different wire of a different color.

If you cannot find it that way, then you will have to put a toner on the wires and try to locate that way.

I hope this makes sense...feel free to follow up with questions.

It appears that the snake river product is using 3 pairs of cables from the monitor panel to the tanks. This is good, as you only need 1 par for all 3 tanks going with the new system.

When wiring the see level, I found it best to add additional wire and splice each of the sensors into the wire using T style tap connectors. This allowed me to make sure the wires exited to the right of each sensor (required per manual) and I had enough lenth. your new "bus" cable will then splice into a pair of cables of your choosing heading into the panel.

At the panel you should find the remaining 12v + and ground wires you need to complete the install.

When placing the sensors, be sure to sand/rough up the area for the sensors, and clean properly.

Before permanently attaching , tape the sensors in place with scotch tape or something similar that can be easily removed to verify that you are getting satisfactory readings.

Most tanks will have the tallest portion on the water bay side, so this is where you should look for the flattest wall to attach the sensor to.

The fresh water tank is flat, and can be attached anywhere.

When doing the fresh water tank, you should use the pump to drain as much as possible, and then add enough water until the pump is no longer sucking air. At that point I added 5 more gallons, and then set the sensor strip to call that "empty".

The top was set to 1" from the very top.

For the Gray tank, I set the "full" to be the point where my bathroom sink would no longer drain. Once I reached that point, I opened the tank and let it run for 5 seconds. I then set that point to be full.

For Black tank, I used the red light on the toilets to mark the 100% point.

Hope this helps

Whew!!! Success, Thanks 007 and RedBaron73!

Wound up with 5 wires unused. I did mark them as such and stored safely. Could have done away with some ground wires but wasn't sure which one was which going to console(no tester). So I kept them and wrapped all together.

Made my console panel out of an old Dewalt case I cut up which fits nicely.

Now just to test a little to make sure all is correct, then store all wires safely in the wet\TV bay. Also need to rebuild TV part of bay to keep the metal away from the sensors as required. Current setup would butt the TV mount very close to tank.

Off to next phase of never ending projects.....

any of your wires have fine print on them?
White ground wires may only have one feed to ground to feed others and some may go to fuse blocks.
This link will have many wiring fuse locations to items in case you find something not working like lights above and below coach such as wrap lights.
The link comes from this one.

Congrats on the install, I remember the wiring nightmare I had when I installed mine. The tank monitor wires changed colors 3 times on my coach. The tanks and their 3-4 ft long pigtails were one set of colors, the chassis wiring in the middle was another set of colors, and the old monitor panel, and its 2-3 ft long pigtails were a 3rd set of colors. Thankfully I had a multi meter and could ohm it out.

All have the same print, normal wiring jargon....Only way to tell is with a metering tool which I don't have. At this point I am good with it as is, as it works awesome, compared with the old 4 position light levels.

If I need these unused wires later for something else then I will go thru the process to determine their hidden connections if any.

Thanks again!

I am loving the way this new monitor is working, but one thing is a little confusing to me. Under my old monitor the battery status showed bars representing the soc. The new one is just giving me volts (~13.1). How do I know what \how do I interpret the new number to understand soc. Thanks!

Here is a link to a state of charge chart https://www.rvtechlibrary.com/battery/bat_volts.php

though be ware using volts to determine state of charge only gives a ballpark figure, there are fancier methods like a Victron BMV702 or 712 that actually measure amps in and out of the battery but these cost a lot more.
