Seems like low CCC

The weight sticker on a 2004 Newmar Mountain Aire 35BLKS lists the net CCC as a little over 1000 lbs with a GVW of 16250 lbs. This seems like a very low net carrying capacity for a 5er this heavy. It's especially disappointing in light of the available storage space. Is the low CCC typical of the smaller Newmar trailers?

Hi mike2wheels,
Welcome to iRV2 and the Newmar Owners Forum. On a new to you unit consider loading it like you want. Then take it to a local scale and get it weighed. You might be surprised (good surprise). Local scales are available at different businesses (moving companies, scrap yards, land fills. etc.) Just about any place where people are paid by weight or weight is important. Depending on the state you are in, the state highway DOT might weight the unit.

Thanks, Gary. There are two CATS scales a few miles south of us, but I want to replace the 9-year-old tires before I move it. Scary just looking at the dates on them.

Welcome to the forum & irv2.
Here is a Brochure should give weights and tank sizes and Owners Guide for the 5th weight & towing info..
The CCC would be the GVRW WEIGHT 16,250 less the full fresh water tank, hot water heater, and the full LP tanks that's left over.
The tires if taken care of properly, good tread even wear and no sidewall cracks should be OK for now.
Check the suspension and tow overhang portion of coach to main body of 5th wheel.
Good luck and safe travels.
