Sewer 90 degree for dirty water

I recently purchased a 2016 Newmar Ventana 3436. I purchased an elbow connection for the sewer, after connecting the elbow the to run the hose out the bottom, the elbow is to long for the exit the hole. Any ideas? Made the purchase from Walmart.

I assume by too long you mean in the horizontal axis, in that it extends horizontally past the hole in the bottom of the wet bay? if this is true, does the plumbing in the coach rotate up and down at all? If the discharge pipe rotates down you may be able to get a 45 degree elbow to work. Rotate the discharge down towards the hole in the floor and then run the 45 up through the hole in the floor to mate up with you discharge pipe.

Does the sewer outlet pivot?

Yes, I'm wondering the same thing -- does your main sewer connection pivot up and down? Mine does. It's stiff, but it does pivot up and down, which allows for fitting different hoses and connections.

As for me, I don't put a 90° fitting there. I just poke my Stinky-Slinky up through the hole, connect my hose directly to the main sewer connection, and then pivot the connection down so the hose goes out the hole nicely.

If rotating it does not work, try a different brand. The Valterra 90 degree elbow worked well for us. Not all fittings have the same dimensions.

Yup. I tried three brands before getting the one I have to work. Mine was particularly compact, but unfortunately it no longer has any identifiable labels.

+1 on short Valterra 90 degree clear elbow. Makes the turn to the hole in the bottom perfectly on our 3412 VTLE (assume the wet bay layout is identical to your 3436?). We leave it attached to the end of the outlet, and rotate it up for room to put the white cover on the hole in the floor. When we're ready to use, we remove the cap, rotate it down, and then bring the sewer hose up. We have the clear 90 degree elbow so can see how the dumping process is going...

Sometimes photos show more than words can describe.

Here's how mine fits. Note that I have to pivot the main sewer connector up and down to fit the sewer hose properly through the hole.

FYI, this is a Valtera Viper sewer hose. Note how well the hose leaves the coach and fits onto the Slunky. When I tried 90° and 45° elbows (the Camco Rhinoflex connectors seemed to fit better than the Valterra in this configuration), the hose ended up too low - and wouldn't drain properly into the dump. Just using the hose and fitting it onto the sewer drain bayonet works best for me.

Hope this helps.

There are a lot of threads about this issue.

Newmar uses a "standard" placement for the hole that isn't engineered for the location of the sewer discharge in each particular model. This results in the problem you are having. I went crazy with this issue until finding all the threads and relieved it wasn't just me.

-The sewer outlet moves up and down.
-You have to try different brands/angles to see what will fit.

I have the Rhino system and was able to use their 90* elbow. I have to futz with it and raise/lower the outlet to get it attached.

It is a pain but a first world problem I just live with.

Some elbows are more compact, we faced the same problem. I'll check to see if I can identify the part and post back.

The 90 degree Valterra T1023 adapter seems to work best for me. Here's a link to the adapter on Amazon:

I am glad I kept the clear Elbow from my last MH. I noticed the newer ones at Walmart yesterday are much longer than the one I purchased there a few years ago. The new one would have gone past the floor making the hose hard to connect.
Might have to shop a store the has a selection of different lengths.
