Sewer hose storage...

Hi,

I've got a DSDP 3852 and the RhinoFlex sewer hose I bought will not fit into the tube on the side of the coach. I'm going to return it to the store and get another, but thought I'd first ask you all what hose you use. It's the fitting on the end of the hose that is stopping it from sliding all the way in. I'd prefer to hide the hose in the tube versus leaving it laying in the sewer bay.

I had the same problem. I wanted the Rhino Flex because for the cost they are a good hose. I had to take a hand file and file the turning tabs down a little(very little) and it then fit great. You still have lots of grip to turn it on and off. Hope this helps.

I use two, one in the tube and one in the bay. That way I am able to connect no matter how far the hook-up is. The brand doesn't matter to me, I replace them every few years.

Since my new Rhino came with end caps that seal it for storage, I no longer object to storing on the floor of the wet bay.

We use a 'polychute sewer hose' - it comes complete with a plastic storage box with a locking lid. However, you could do the same if you don't want the hose on the floor of the storage bay. Just get a plastic storage box with a lid that will fit in one of your storage bays.

My motorhome does not have a storage tube, or room in the compartment where the dump valves are, and I was keeping it in a plastic tub,but it was a pain. It took a little time to think of a good place to store it, I ended up building a rack out of 1" pvc that fits in the compartment with the propane tank. There is enough room that two hoses fit side by side. Very easy to get out and store, and if there is some water in it after rinsing it wll be dry when I get it out.

I use a plastic fence post that I place in the most forward storage bay next to the wall (acoss the motor home) on top of another fence post that I store my 7' collapsible ladder. The 3rd fence post I store my window exterior sunshades. With the fence posts I never have any inteference stowing or retrieving.

I use the Rhino hose. I had the same problem with it fitting in the 5" pipe attached to the MH. I purchased a 5' hose & a longer one, I think 20 or 25'. I removed the end from the 5' hose so i could install it permanently to the drain connection by routing through the 5" pipe & reinstalling the end connector. These connectors are a pia to remove but it is possible. I do keep the long hose inside a box inside a basement compartment when notin use.

I use a standard hose with the blue Prestofit fittings. The go right into the storage tube with no trouble. I use a black 90° fitting on one end and a straight Prestofit on the other. The Prestofit end is just a straight tube and I fit it to a 90° Prestofit pipe to screw in/press fit connection to the land sewer fitting.

Thanks for the tip. I've been wanting to return the hose for a long time, but now that I know I can trim down the tabs and make it fit I'll be keeping it. My Dremel Tool should do the trick.

I simply put mine in a Rubbermade container and put it in the bunk under the slide.

Same here, I use the very simple hoses that you can get anywhere. When I go to store, I simply attach the ends and store them in a Rubbermaid container. That keeps everything clean in the storage bay. I carry about 40' of hoses so I don't have an issue hooking up anywhere.
